Our online-quote rates
Moves are charged by the hour, from when we arrive to when we finish. Get your quote here and you pay our online rate: $50 to $100 an hour less than our standard rate.
| Crew | Standard | Online quote | Typically suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 movers + truck | $250/hr | $200/hr | Studios, apartments and smaller moves |
| 3 movers + truck | $350/hr | $250/hr | Most 2–3 bedroom homes |
| 4 movers + 2 trucks | $500/hr | $400/hr | Larger homes and tighter timeframes |
Rates are a guide for planning. Your quote confirms the exact price for your move, including anything specific to your home.
What affects the price
- Crew and trucks. More movers and a second truck cost more per hour but finish sooner. For a big move that often works out cheaper overall.
- How long it takes. Billing runs from arrival to finish, so anything that slows the day (stairs, long carries, a tight street) adds time.
- Access at both ends. Narrow Woollahra terrace streets with no off-street parking, steep harbour driveways at Point Piper and Vaucluse, no-lift deco blocks at Darling Point, and Watsons Bay streets a truck cannot reach all shape the crew, the shuttle and the timing we quote.
- The pieces themselves. A grand piano, fine art, marble or a wine collection needs specialist handling, the right gear and enough hands, so the contents are quoted with the move once we know the piece and the access.
- Distance. A local Double Bay move is mostly load-and-unload time; a longer or interstate run adds travel.
- Packing. We can pack and unpack for you, or you can have everything boxed and ready to keep the hours down.

Pricing: common questions
How much does a removalist cost in the Double Bay?
Our online-quote rates start at $200/hour for two movers and a truck, $250/hour for three, and $400/hour for a four-mover, two-truck crew. Moves are billed by the hour from arrival to finish, and you get a clear estimate up front based on your specific move.
How is the price calculated?
It’s the hourly rate for your crew size multiplied by the time the move takes, plus any travel for longer runs. The size of your home sets the crew; the access at both ends sets the time. We quote the estimate before you book so there are no surprises.
Is there a minimum charge or a call-out fee?
We’ll confirm any minimum on your quote rather than springing fees on the day. Honesty up front is the point. Tell us about your move and the quote spells out exactly what’s included.
How can I get a cheaper move?
Get your quote online for our online rate (lower than our standard rate), move mid-week or mid-month if you can, have everything packed and ready before the crew arrives, and clear the access (bins moved, gates unlocked, lift booked). Every minute saved is money saved on an hourly move.
Will the final price match the quote?
The quote is an accurate estimate based on what you tell us, and the hourly billing reflects the actual time on the day. If something changes the job (more to move than expected, access we weren’t told about), we’ll flag it rather than quietly run the clock.
